Booking FAQs PDF Print E-Mail

My school, college or business is interested in booking a Girls Fight Back seminar.  What's the next step?

The next step is to contact us by filling out our online form.  Or you can call our toll free number at 1-866-432-2423.  We will e-mail you an Info Packet which contains more details about the Speaker, the program and other material that approval boards might want to take a look at before booking.

How much does a GFB seminar cost?

There are many factors that determine cost.  We take into consideration what type of group is looking to book the event, in addition to date requested, geographic area and if you are willing to "block book."  This means, if a GFB Speaker is already in your state on a certain date, we'd give a discount to book a seminar the day before or after.  This saves everyone time and money, since travel costs get expensive very quickly.  Since fees vary so widely, please contact us for a more specific quote.

How can I find out when GFB is in my area, so I can block book?

Please view our online calendar, which is the most up-to-date booking information available.  Click here to see it.

When is payment due?

Payment for seminars is due the night of the program.  We do not require an advance deposit, but any cancellations within 30 days of the contracted date are legally responsible for the entire program and travel fee.

Who will conduct the seminar?

Between 2001-2009, GFB Founder Erin Weed conducted all programs.  In 2009 she was the recipient of the "Best Female Performer" award given by Campus Activities Magazine.  But due to rising demand for seminars and Erin starting a family, she is training a team of Speakers to conduct programs beginning in Fall 2009.  The Speakers are based regionally across the U.S., meaning we can keep your costs down by sending a speaker close to your event location.  Furthermore, each Speaker has her own story and angle on women's safety & self-defense.  Rest assured, anyone who conducts a GFB seminar has received stellar training in both self-defense and presentation skills.  If you specifically want Erin Weed to be your speaker, the cost may be higher and the availability may be limited. Please inform the booking agent at Bass/Schuler if this is your preference.

After booking a seminar, what can I expect?

We will send you a simple contract to sign in order to save the date.  Once the event is contracted, GFB wil e-mail you an Event Planning Guide that will provide a complete checklist of everything you need to prepare for an excellent presentation.  The Speaker who will be conducting the seminar will get in touch with you 4 weeks prior to the event date to discuss logistics and travel arrangements.  You will work with that Speaker directly going forward to handle any last minute questions or logisitics that pop up.

What am I required to provide for the Speaker?

At Girls Fight Back, we have a strict "no diva" policy from the day you sign the contract until the day of the event.  Our staff handles all travel planning and logistics on our end.  All we ask is the event organizer meets the Speaker an hour before start time to assist with set-up.  For the actual presentation we require an LCD projector and screen for the PowerPoint presentation.  We will also need a wireless microphone, and male assistant to help with self-defense demonstrations.  No need to wine and dine the Speaker.  She is self-suffiicient and low maintenance.

I'm just looking for a small self-defense class, like a small workshop.  Does Girls Fight Back provide this?

We are focused on providing one-time, 90-minute seminars that inspire, empower, educate and entertain larger audiences.  However, we're happy to refer you to a quality, local self-defense instructor who can meet your needs.
